For Clinicians
The Cytomegalovirus~Immunoprophylactic Adoptive Cellular Therapy (CMV~IMPACT) Study is a randomised, three arm study comparing standard antiviral therapy alone to adoptive cellular therapy (ACT) plus conventional care for the reduction of CMV reactivation episodes in patients following allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant (allo-HSCT). CMV seropositive patients with CMV positive sibling donors undergoing T-cell depleted HSCT are considered for the study.
Cell Medica is currently using two methods of immune cell purification, the first involves the selection of both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells based on cytokine behavioural phenotype in response to a viral protein (Miltenyi Biotec GmbH) and the second is based the selection CD8+ T cells based on T cell receptor specificity to viral peptide in complex with a MHC multimer (Stage Pharmaceutical, GmbH).
All cell formulations processed according to the regulatory requirements of the EU Tissue and Cells Directive, the Human Tissue Authority, and the cell therapy processing guidelines of FACT JACIE.
