T cell immunotherapy is based on the natural power of the human immune system

Latent viruses infect majority of population

T cells attacking a virus infected cell.

  • Many viruses, such as the one that causes chicken pox, are never fully eliminated from the human body even after a successful immune response.
  • Memory T cells provide keep these latent viruses inc check
  • Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infects 60% - 90% of humans but rarely causes any symptoms in patients with healthy immune systems

Clinical Need

Immunosuppressed patients are vulnerable to infections following haematopoietic stem cell (bone marrow) transplant.

Many infections in these patients can be predicted because they arise from latent viruses that are known to be present in the patient (or donor) before the transplant procedure

T cell immunotherapy as a solution

Using advanced cell formulation techniques, CMV-specific memory T cells can be recovered from a donor and infused into the patient to restore immunity to CMV.
