Cell Medica: Research

Technology

Our approach

Cell Medica’s technology is based upon the clinical use of antigen-specific T cells for the treatment of infections (CytovirTM product group) and cancer (CytorexTM product group).

Cytovir: Anti-viral Immune Reconstitution - Adoptive cell therapy involves the transfer of T cells from a healthy donor to an immuno-suppressed patient following a bone marrow transplant. The adoptive transfer of virus-specific T cells from a donor restores immunity to a target virus in the patient.

Cytorex: Cancer Immunotherapy - For the treatment of cancer, the source of the T cells is generally from the patient. The ex vivo activation and expansion of T cells targeting tumour-associated viral antigens is the basis for inducing cancer remission.
